MSCI is looking for Hunter/Trapper Education Instructors!

Hunting & Trapping experience preferred, but not required. Training is free through the PA Game Commission and class hours are flexible to meet your busy schedule. MSCI needs your help to continue this valuable resource for our young sportsmen

PA HUNTER TRAPPER EDUCATION

The Fall 2010 Pennsylvania Game Commission Hunter Education class was held on Friday August 13th from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday August 14th from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Attendance both days is required for completion of the course and the Safe Hunter certificate.  Students taking the class must be at least 11 years old.  There will be a one hour break for lunch on Saturday.  No food is available at MSCI.  There are numerous food establishments within 5 minutes drive to get lunch or students are welcome to pack a lunch and eat at MSCI.  For more information or to register for this class call 724-934-6887.

NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course

MSCI Club House from 8 AM to 4 PM for only $20.00

This class is required before registration to Personal Protection Inside & Outside the Home

Instructors:  Wayne Seiling & Michele Colville

 Short Description: Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.


More Details: This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet; take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course evaluation.  You will need to provide your own handgun, minimum of 50 rounds of ammo, eye & ear protection (a gun cleaning if you have one).  NO LIVE AMMO IS PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM!  Contact Michele Colville at micheleseiling@yahoo.com
