MSCI will host a 4 hour Utah CCW
License course. No shooting is involved; it’s all lecture. Cost
will be $50 per head for the instruction. In addition, the cost for the
license is $62.25 to be paid to the State of Utah, and fingerprints will be
have to be submitted. Arrangements can be made to have fingerprints taken at
the course at Millvale for and extra $25 per person. | |
|
The Utah CCW License DOES NOT include Pennsylvania. Utah does not have full formal reciprocity with Pennsylvania. Utah recognizes Pennsylvania CCW licenses, but Pennsylvania DOES NOT recognize a Utah CCW license at this time. Tor a complete list of the states that the Utah CCW License covers please click on the UTAH CCW CHART link. |

Initial Application Fee:
What will it Cost to Apply?
A non-refundable fee of $65.25 must be included with your application. This
fee consists of $35.00 for application and permit processing and $30.25
charged by the F.B.I. to process your fingerprint cards. Please make checks
and money orders payable to the "Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification".
RENEWALS:
WHEN
The Utah concealed firearm permit is valid for a period of five years. The
Bureau of Criminal Identification will send a renewal application to you
approximately one month prior to your expiration.
*Make sure to let us know if you move so we can update our records. If you
do not, you may not receive the reminder notice to renew.
HOW:
Complete the renewal application form and return it to the Bureau of
Criminal Identification with your check, money order or credit card
information. (Form requires Adobe Reader. To download the FREE Adobe
Reader, visit the Adobe Web site.)
Bureau of Criminal Identification
3888 West 5400 South
Box 148280
Salt Lake City, UT 84114-8280.
* Of course you may also turn in your application in person as well.
COST:
The cost of renewal is $10.00. This may be paid by check, money order, or
credit card. The Utah BCI recommends you do not send cash in the mail. If
the permit has been expired for more than 30 days a late fee of $7.50 will
be charged.
PROCESS:
Once the Utah BCI receives a renewal application the permit immediately
gets renewed for the next five years. A new card will be sent to the permit
holder approximately one to two weeks after they receive the renewal
application.
BACKGROUND CHECK:
Occasionally a permit holder gets involved in criminal activity which
results in the revocation of his or her permit. The renewal process also
includes conducting another background check. However, the renewal is
automatic. There will be no break in the validity period of a permit. Even
in cases where a criminal incident needs to be investigated, the permit
remains valid until the investigation is complete. If corrective action is
ultimately needed, the permit holder will be notified. This is why it is
possible that a permit holder may receive a new permit card and then a short
period later receive a letter revoking the permit.
Please pass this message on to anyone you think might want to come. Some
members sent Email to the MSCI webbot but didn't leave their email addresses
to keep informed
