Directions

 

Beaver Valley Archery Club

1       From North of Zelienople:  Take Interstate 79 South to exit 88 (Zelienople).  Turn right on Little Creek Rd. and then left on Rt. 19 (south).  Follow Rt. 19 about 2 miles and turn right on W. Beaver St. (Rt. 68).  Follow Rt. 68 West 6.7 miles to Rothart Rd., turn right, go ½ mile to club on the left.

2       From South of Zelienople: Take Interstate 79 North to exit 83 (Evans City).  Turn left on Lindsay Rd. (Rt. 528) and then right on Rt. 19 (north).  Follow Rt. 19 about 2 miles and turn left on W. Beaver St. (Rt. 68).  Follow Rt. 68 West 6.7 miles to Rothart Rd., turn right, go ½ mile to club on the left.

3       From Rochester:  Take Rt. 68 East to just past Sunflower Inn to Rothart Rd. on the left, go ½ mile to club on the left.

 

Connoquenessing Valley Bowmen

1       From Zelienople:  Rt. 288 west. Make a left onto Fombell Rd. (Just past post office).  Go 1.5 miles to club on the right.

2       From Ellwood City:  Rt. 288 east.  Make a right onto Fombell Rd. (Just past the Franklin Township building) Go 1.5 miles to club on the right

 

Millvale Sportsmen Club

1       From South of Wexford:  Take Interstate 79 North to exit 73 (Wexford). Turn left on Wexford Bayne Rd.  Go ¼ mile and turn right on Sunny Hill Rd. (between PennDot salt shed & the gas station).  Follow road to the club.

2       From North of Wexford:  Take Interstate 79 South to exit 73 (Wexford).  Turn right.  Go 100 yards and turn right on Sunny Hill Rd. (between PennDot salt shed & the gas station).  Follow road to the club.

 

Rochester Sportsmen Club

     1    From Cranberry Route 19: Take Freedom road to Route 989.  Make left onto Route 989. Follow Route 989 stay to the right at the Dew Drop inn.  The club is on the                     right just before the New Sewickley Fire Station.

      2    From Zelienople Route 19:  Take Route 68 West.  Turn left onto Route 989 (Glen Eden Road).  Follow Route 989 the Club is just passed the New Sewickley Fire                       Station. 

 

Possum Hollow

1       From New Castle:  Take Rt. 18 South to first right past Stonecrest Golf Course.  Turn right onto Possum Hollow Rd.

2       From Beaver Falls:  Take Rt. 18 North.  Two miles past Kopple turn left onto Possum Hollow Rd. (by car dealer).  Club is 1.5 miles on the left.

3       From Rt. 60:  Route 60 to exit 17, left on Shenango Rd. then straight across Rt. 351.  Go approx 2  miles and turn right onto Darlington Rd.   Turn right on Possum Hollow Rd.  Follow 1 mile to club on the right.

Standing Range Archery Rules

            1.         All members must register in the clubhouse and pay the prevailing fees before

                         using the range.  The range is open from dawn till dusk.

            2.         All guests must register in the clubhouse and pay the prevailing fees before

                        shooting.

                        All guests must be accompanied by a member.

            3.         All junior members must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult

                        member.

            4.         Members have preference over guests when the range is crowded

            5.         No alcoholic beverages permitted on the range.

            6.         Shooting time limit of one hour when other archers are waiting.

            7.         Official approved paper targets only! Positively no bottles, cans or other trash

                        should be used as targets.

            8.         Targets should be placed on the designated backstops.  targets should not be

                        placed at mid-range.  Cross-shooting is absolutely prohibited.

            9.         No broadheads permitted- field tips only allowed.

            10.       The two (2) primary rules of archery safety must be observed at all times.

                                    A          Always point the drawn bow down range at all times.

                                    B          Be sure of your target.

            11.       Only conventional shooting positions may be used on the standing range: sitting

                        kneeling, or standing.

            12.       Bow load one arrow round at a time.

            13.       Be certain all bows are lying on the ground or hanging from the bow racks before

                        advancing down range.

            14.       At all times be certain that the range is clear, or target on the field course, before

                        shooting.  Remove all targets and clean up range when through shooting.

                        Deposit

                        all targets and refuse in the containers provided.

            15.       Long bows, recurves, compounds and crossbows are allowed on the standing

                        course.

  Shooting Platform Rules

            1.         All members must register in the clubhouse and pay the prevailing fees before

                        using the shooting platform. 

            2.         The shooting platform is open from dawn till dusk.

            3.         All guests must be accompanied by a member. Guests also need to register

                        and pay the prevailing fees.

            4.         All junior member and kids must be accompanined by a parent or other

                         responsible adult.  Kid cannot be left alone on the shooting plaform.

            5.         No horseplay on or around the shooting platform.

            6.         Shoot from the top platform only.  No shooting from the steps, on the railing, on

                        the bench, or landing.

            7.         The top gate must be closed at all times except for exiting or entering the

                        platform.

            8.         Shoot only at the bag targets provided.  No targets should be placed at mid

                        range. Cross shooting is absolutely prohibited.  Positively no bottles, cans, or

                        other trash should be used as targets.

            9.         No broadheads permitted - field tips only.

            10.       Members have preference over guests when people are waiting to shoot.  

                        Please limit your time to 30 minutes if the platform is crowded.

            11.       THE SHOOTING PLATFORM IS CLOSED TO SHOOTING PRACTICE DURING

                        SUNDAY 3-D SHOOTS.

            12.       At all times be certain that the range is clear.  Be aware of your surroundings,

                        people could be walking around the club on the paths.

            13.       Be aware fo the railing. The railing is that high because of insurance reasons. 

                        Watch your string, limbs, or cams so there not hitting the railing.

            14.       The two (2) primary rules of archery safety must be observed at all time.

                                    A          Always point the drawn bow down range at all times.

                                    B          Be sure of your target.
